How an ERP can help your business.

Following a disaster as many as 50% of the businesses that are forced to close their doors are never open them again. When looking at the businesses that survive the overwhelming majority had an emergency plan in place. Having a plan gives your staff the information they need, contributes to your organizational security and can give you peace of mind.
Many times, the process of creating an emergency plan highlights some of the biggest security and safety concerns in your business and allows you to take steps to avoid them altogether. In some businesses only certain key people know the critical information about the building such as where the water, sprinkler or gas shut off’s are and if those people who know that information are not available quickly enough then your small disaster can quickly balloon out of control into a huge disaster.
Once here in Wichita our SERVPRO team was called out to a water damage in a church. When we arrived onsite the water was still coming out of the pipe and the churches staff had no idea where the water shut off was and after time was wasted searching they called the fire department to turn the water off. Lack of preparedness turned a flooding issue which only would have affected a few rooms into a disaster which affected the whole church. The reason no one could find the water shut-off? Well after hiring some architects to review the blueprints it turns out the water shut-off got drywalled over.
Examples like this is why we started developing Emergency Ready Profiles with local businesses, non-profits and churches in Wichita, Andover, Derby, Haysville and everywhere else around our metro area. One of our SERVPRO representatives comes out, documents and assesses your facility then provides a concise profile for your organization and employees to use if an emergency occurs. Once the proper steps for the safety of your employees and facilities have been taken the profile also provides information about the chain of command in place for an emergency meaning the process of recovery also begins much faster. This can also be accessed and edited via an app that we provide to your organization. This whole process we provide is completely free of charge.
