Water Fills up Crawlspace after Wichita, KS Storm
This crawlspace filled up with over 2 feet of water after a storm here in Wichita, KS. The homeowner called us and we were instantly on the scene and began pumping out the water. After the standing water was removed we then went in to pump out the large standing puddles which remained. While doing that we rolled 6 mil plastic around the basement to help protect the crawlspace from mold growth due to high humidity and checked the floor joists for moisture. In this circumstance the floor joists were above what we call dry standard so we put in drying equipment to finish the job. The plastic acted as a vapor barrier so that the muddy ground of the crawlspace wouldn't maintain the high humidity and helped keep the drying process clean. After a few days everything was dry and we removed the drying equipment.
