Drying a Basement Flooded by Storms in Wichita, KS
When basements get flooded and we remove carpet/pad from homes there are typically many things still left to dry. In the before picture you can see 5 air movers (or fans) directed at various parts of the home that are wet. Additionally, there is a Dehumidifier which takes the water the air movers kick up into the air, sucks it in, and deposits it down a drain. In the before picture you can also see that the air movers are mostly directed at the drywall where the water had soaked up a foot even though the water level was never that high. Additionally there are two air movers focused directly on the wood supports around the fireplace because those were also saturated and can typically take a while to dry so we paid extra attention to them. In the after photo all the equipment has been removed since all the materials are dry and the home is ready to have the carpet relayed.
