Mushrooms Grow on Mold in Late Discovered Flooded Basement in Wichita, KS

Often when vacant homes flood it can be a while before they are discovered. In the photos above the discovery time was exceptionally long and severe microbial growth was allowed to happen. You can see mushrooms growing out of the mold on the floor here. The electricity to the home was shut off which prevented the sump pump from running which caused the loss. There was standing water when we arrived which we extracted and then we remediated the mold and demolition began. Notice how the wall was also greatly affected. We removed all the affected areas, treated it with antimicrobial and used our drying equipment to dry the remaining structural elements.
